Scala dei Turchi is a spectacular rock formation located along the southern coast of Sicily, in the municipality of Realmonte, in the province of Agrigento. This natural wonder is distinguished by its walls of white marl, a sedimentary rock with a pure white color and smooth texture, which emerges like a large natural staircase overlooking the sea.
The "stairs" rise in gently rounded steps, creating a breathtaking contrast with the intense blue of the Mediterranean Sea that surrounds them. Legend has it that the name derives from the raids of Saracen pirates, known as "Turchi", who found shelter in this area.
